How lucky you are to have a daddy for your John Rains! Most of us cannot find daddys for our ancestor born around that time. I believe if I could find Patsey Raines daddy (she was b. 1795 Randolph Co. N.C.) after hunting him for 27 years, I would throw a party and invite ALL RAINS/ RAINS/ REINS/ REINES RAYNES (and any other way we find to spell it!). You are so lucky.
