John Rains b. 1772 North Carolina (wife unknown) Children: Martha b. 2 January 1804 Randolph Co., NC m. Jeremiah Craven Elias b. Abt 1805 Probably Randolph Co, NC m. Jane Gray 1830 TN [At this point, they moved to Campbell Co., TN] James b. Abt 1809 Campbell Co., TN m. Rachel Vanderpool 1835 MO George b. 24 October 1812 Campbell Co., TN m. Jane Sharp abt 1828 MO Caswell b. 1816 Campbell Co., TN m. Martha Queener 1840 MO Sometime between 1830-1835 we believe that most of the above went to Ray County, MO, accompanied by the Craven family and others. John's sister was Elizabeth Catherine Rains b. 22 May 1775 NC. She married Richard C. Craven 15 June 1797 in NC. They also went to Ray County, MO. We believe the Randolph Co., NC, Campbell Co., TN, and Ray Co., MO locations to be correct, but we don't have any documents at this time to prove them except Ray Co., MO.
