I have a book, Rains, Raines/Rane and Kindred, by Katherine Buck Rains, of Wayne Co., Va. It is not indexed, which makes it very difficult to find anybody, but I did find one mention of Christopher Raines. It says, "Christopher Raines married Amy Boyd, daughter of John W. Mitchell on Jan. 28, 1788." This was in Brunswick County, which was formed from Prince George Co. in 1732. She also says, " There is a Christopher Raines in Cumberland Co., N.C. by 1790, Fayette District, with l white male 16 and upward and 1 white female. Also in the same county and district was an Anthony Raines with 1 white male 16 and upward, 3 white males under 16, and 5 white females. This Anthony Raines appears to be older than Christopher Raines. This Anthony Raines is not the same man who married Nancy Graham. The ages of their children do not correspond." Eva
