The 1779 tax list is Randolph Co., NC's first tax list. Henry Rains does not appear on this list. Hennary Rains (1 white poll -no land) is, however, on Thomas Craven's List of Taxable Property in 1799. Henry Rains is on the 1800 Randolph Co. census (20110-22010-00). I hope I have those numbers in the census correct. I haven't checked the original.
