    2. >From the above book the following is found. Maybe it might be of interest to some one. (1) John Rains 400acres Sept.18,1735. In forks of Rappahanock River and Westwood of Sherrando River. (2) Thomas Raines acres unknown for Southside Blackwater in 1702. (3) Wm. Raines 600acres 21Sept.1702 for Southside Blackwater. From " Colonial Caroline - A History of Caroline County,VA." (1) Robert Rains - A carpenter Apprentice in 1736-His Master Edmound Graves. (2) Robert Rains 1741 listed under Joiners & Carpenters- Artisans in 1741.(3) Henry Rains had indentured servants in 1732 and 1749. (4) Henry Rains Constable 1732. (5) Henry Rains illw/smallpox 1778( yes that is the date given). From the 1st source it is also given Wm. Raines 300acres Pr. Geo. County 1704. From " Caroline County Order Book 1755-1758" Isml. Rains On the motion of Isml. Rains, it's ordered his tithables be added to the list.( Is this the Ishmael Rains of Randolph County, NC ? ) >From " The Granville District of North Carolina 1748-1763" Robt. Raines witness to Johnston County deeds 21July1761, 13Jan.1761, 29April1761, and 21July1760. Also John Rains surveyed some land 1Dec.1760. Also Robt. and Henry Rains witnessed a land sale in Johnston County 21July1761.( Here we have Henry, Robert and John.
