Newman Rains, son of John R. and Kezia Rains, was born about 1754 in Cameron Parish, Fairfax Co., Va. He was mentioned in his father's will in 1754 in Fairfax Co. This will mentions Newman and Baley as sons by his wife, Kezia. Anthony and John Rains were mentioned, but their mother's name was not given. Kezia was expecting a child when this will was written. Newman and his mother, Kezia, were in Bedford Co., Va. as early as 1792, when Newman Reins' boundary line was mentioned in a will of Cornelius Dabney, dated May 23, 1792. One of the witnesses was Keziah Reins. I am trying to determine the maiden name of Keziah Reins/Rains. Some say she was a Dabney, and since she witnessed the will of Cornelius Dabney in Bedford Co., I am looking into this possibility. There is a John who married a Keziah but does NOT fit your description because of the marriage date of Keziah being 1761 which is after Newman was born 1754 unless he was s/o first wife??.
