    3. As to why you wrote Accomack by the name Roland, I can shed a bit on light on that. 1. a headright record in the Passenger/Immigration books by Filby it named a Roland Rains 1636 headright to Accomack. 2. In the misc court records of Accomack p. 162 an inventory to the estate of a Roland Rains in 1639. Appears that the estate may have included 200 acres in No. Hampton, "a neck of land lately in the possession of Rowland Rains." 3. The name appears in VA Colonial Abstracts also. In the court records the name appeared in misc events from 1635-37. 4. One strange item was that a Mr. Wheatley was accused of abusing a Roland and a Tomasin Raines--dates of records not clear--1632-7. This is perplexing as in the immigration papers we can read of Rowland or Roland and a Thomasin(a) coming over--the latter being his wife. Another record said she was his servant. ?? 5. in VA Cav & Pioneers for date 18 May 1637 there was a Roland named with a purchase of 1300 acres New Norfolk east of the Nansemond River.
