I have always searched for the ancestry of Emory Rains. I guess for no other reason than I pass thru Emory, Texas and Rains County A good deal. Two of our Rains-L family in California seems to have come up with some good solutions. (1) Emory Rains,b.5/2/1800 the son of Asahuel Rains,b.5/5/1772 in Randolph Co.,NC the son of George Rains,b.abt.1750 in probably Caroline County, VA. (2) or Emory the son of John Rains,b.abt.1782 in RCNC, the son of George Rains,b.abt.1750. Any comments from anyone especially you Texas Rains-L's. Now you folks wake up.
