Is this your John Jr as well?" Is this Hub Quarter Creek ? I ask because in 1755 Thomas Bell had 2 plots surveyed in Granville, St John's Parish on Hub Quarter Creek of 545 and 640 acres. The obscure designation SCC appears at the end of this record and then the names Thomas Harton and Jno Riggin. I know this is the land area we later find holding Joseph, John and a cast of other familiar characters. The Hartons and the Bells implies that this is the Daniel or Francis group...which does NOT exclude Wm Powell or James and Joan or Timothy, but the interconnection of the John R, Harton, Bell is strong, and the Joseph R is right with them. I'm not sure I can defend this statement, but I feel that as they entered NC in the 1750's, the R's connection between the Joseph R. and the Francis R/DanielR and the John R/Bell is more recent than any connection between Wm Powells, Timothy, James/Joan and the John/Bell, Fran/Daniel, Joseph R...These connections are further back in new and old VA and MD. By Old VA, I mean Isle of Wight and Surry, not Stafford or York, which I call New VA because they are after the dispersal.
