    3. If Darby is an immigrant in 1668 to Accomack VA, why is he listed as an "immigrant" again in 1681 Maryland? -----Original Message----- From: Maryellen Horrigan Sent: Sunday, September 16, 2007 5:37 PM To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Ragan, McIntosh I have put my remarks in parentheses and initialed.MCH -----Original Message----- From: ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of james garrett Sent: Sunday, September 16, 2007 1:37 AM To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Ragan, McIntosh Many of the Reagan immigrants landed in Maryand bet 1662-1681 (Don't forget, in 1661, Va passed the Acts of Intolerance... no one who did not follow and tithe and worship at the C of E was welcome...they started to get vicious. Daniel Regan in Surry VA in 1666 Well, we all love this one.I believe Isle of Wight is first. That's where Ann and her Husb Daniel, son of above were. Is this your John Jr as well?" Is this Hub Quarter Creek ? I ask because in 1755 Thomas Bell had 2 plots surveyed in Granville, St John's Parish on Hub Quarter Creek of 545 and 640 acres. The obscure designation SCC appears at the end of this record and then the names Thomas Harton and Jno Riggin. I know this is the land area we later find holding Joseph, John and a cast of other familiar characters. The Hartons and the Bells implies that this is the Daniel or Francis group...which does NOT exclude Wm Powell or James and Joan or Timothy, but the interconnection of the John R, Harton, Bell is strong, and the Joseph R is right with them. I'm not sure I can defend this statement, but I feel that as they entered NC in the 1750's, the R's connection between the Joseph R. and the Francis R/DanielR and the John R/Bell is more recent than any connection between Wm Powells, Timothy, James/Joan and the John/Bell, Fran/Daniel, Joseph R...These connections are further back in new and old VA and MD. By Old VA, I mean Isle of Wight and Surry, not Stafford or York, which I call New VA because they are after the dispersal. 3. Because it's MD and he is an Immigrant to MD...there is no USofA and MD didn't give a Hoot about what was in VA. Some folks went back and forth. SC got a lot f folks by promising Headrights...they didn't have to come by ship...they stole anyone's citizens so long as they stayed.MCH -----Original Message----- From: ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of james garrett Sent: Sunday, September 16, 2007 7:37 PM To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Ragan, McIntosh If Darby is an immigrant in 1668 to Accomack VA, why is he listed as an "immigrant" again in 1681 Maryland?
