In 1998, there was little to do on line in genealogy. We tried. The gurus were old timers who had all written books researching the hard and $ way. They were our guides. Many of them are gone. As we grew, we formed a group I called " The Cabal". We were a group of "r" name researchers that weren't hung up on 18th century spelling. Court was part of this group and I have a very funny note of his wherein he was downloading the new PAF 4 to manage his notes and folk. Yeesh ! Sometimes I'd play games of " do you have any?. and put out some surnames. People would reply with whom they had and where and when. We would then try to hitch the relatives from our various datas. It's easier, sometimes , to be objective about names that you don't feel passionate about. For your amusement I offer the following: REBECCA HUBBARD was born in 1740 Amelia Co. VA. 23 years later. In Orange Co NC, she marries SAMUEL HOLLOWAY. #1 Rebecca's daughter Sarah Holloway married William Riggan, greatgrandson of Francis Riggan and Jane Gross. #2 Rebecca's nephew Davis Holloway married Sarah Giles. Sarah is a direct ancestor of Melissa Rasberry Riggins wife of Dolbee Riggins, grandson of Littleton Riggins of GA and AL. #3 Rebecca's siister-in-law, Kezziah Pigg has two cousins, Lucinda and Eleanor Pigg who married George Washington Raggins and David Raggins, possible descendents of Wm Powell Riggins. #4 Rebecca's husband Sam has a cousin William Holloway, who's daughter Nancy married James Riggins, son of Powell and Ruth Trice Riggins,( Powell-son of Wm Powell Riggins) #5 This same William Hollowy has another daughter , Sally Holloway who married James' possible cousin Powell Riggins of SC. Some of this I still have the proofs of Some I'd have to dig for. Enjoy, Maryellen
