Interestingly & coincedentaly, there is a Michael Reagan about 1699 place unknown. He lives in Stafford VA & died in Fairfax VA in 1773. He has a son Michael Jr b. 1740. Nothing more is known abt this Michael Jr. Michael Sr had a brother William b. bef 1709 who also resided in Stafford & died in Fairfax in 1754. The only known son of this Wm was John b. aft 1736. Makes me wonder if Wm could have had a son named Micheal as well b. 1730s? Unfortunately this is all I know of Wm. You mention that Samuel Reagan was born Russel Co VA. Micheal Reagan Sr also had son Nicholas b. 1736 who died in Washingon Co., VA in 1819. Washington bordered Russell to the south. The draw back to any type of connection is that both your Michael Sr & Jr were born PA, while Michael Sr and brother Wm was in Stafford VA. -----Original Message----- From: Maryellen Horrigan Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 10:40 AM To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Michael Regan Sr. I cannot help directly, BUT, Chester Co PA for an early period I do not remember the specific dates of, was one of the counties that claimed part of the DELMARVA Peninsula. Penn and Baltimore really got into it in Court in Eng. The fight was bitter and the resulting compromise was ignored by both sides. VA was also scrambling for property. The Mason Dixon line that "decided" the issue was never completed across the DELMARVA, as the surveyors got stuck in the swamps. It didn't matter, because landowners just ignored the new line and continued to register claims wherever they felt inclined. Take a poke around Accomack VA, Northhampton VA, and Somerset MD. There is also an oddball group of records on the MD Archives site that lists "MD land claims in DE". It is possible to have kin on this odd finger of land between the Chesapeake and the Atlantic, because the area was so riddled with water. M'ellen P.S. Your protocol is right on. -----Original Message----- From: ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ragan-roots-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Cynthia Vogel Sent: Friday, September 07, 2007 12:05 PM To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Wm Powell Riggin How do I do a Roll Call?
