I forgot to add, there is a string of women named Jemima in the Teague line. There is a question of identity among the Josephs of Teague's line. Which Joseph was whom... There are packs of missing young men. Just another consideration. Teague also has a cluster go to Surry VA and then NC in time for Alamance. There is a James, Joseph, Jeremiah, and Joshua all born from 1750-65 who go missing from DELMARVA. Among others. There are two key men who die with children intestate. Ergo, we have no names. I am not helping here, just making more mud methinks. Let me ask. What is your guess on the 2 early William Riggins men in SC? A 90 something who researches the family of a Beaird/Ragen daughter just snail mailed me a pack of paper. It's all over the farm in content. However, it claims that the Littleton Ragen/Riggins who buys in 1799 GA ( married 1796 NC) came to GA with a cluster from SC. I wouldn't pay attention, except that is my own theory and the second such reference I've encountered to a SC immigration... There are three loci for the name Littleton Rxxx before 1800. One is in MD, born 1734. We believe there are two more here and that id is misapplied to just one. The second place is Bute/Warren NC with the birth of twins in 1784 to Frances II. One is handicapped. A later nephew in this group is also named Littleton. The third Littleton buys in Greene Co GA in 1799. He leaves a paper trail all over the state of GA. He dies in AL. The 90++ researcher mailed me a paper trail that shows our mutual Beaird/Ragen ( from Littleton #1) relations moving to LA in the 1850's...where they marry the descendents of Frances Riggan of Warren NC, the family with Littleton #2. You'd think folk with two names ( Peter and Littleton) that weren't William or John would have it easy. One more question totally out of context, any clue to the identity of the Thomas Rxx in the 1805 GA lottery? (Anyone know who this Joseph is?) Also since Northampton & Bertie Counties are also close (where some of the descendants of Daniel Regan of Surry VA moved to & died), I am wondering if this Jeremiah could also be a decendant of Daniel? Daniel did have a son Jeremiah born by 1667 who sold land in Surry Co., VA in 1699. Nothing more is known abt him. Also will of Jacob Riggan of 1803 (recorded 1816) mentions as a witness a Jeremiah Riggin Jr & Samuel Riggin. Is this the Jacob b. 1755 NC, s/o John & Ann Bell Riggins? This Jacob had a brother William who had sons Samuel & Jeremiah. But who is Jeremiah Jr in Jacobs 1803 will?JW Garrett <jwgarrett@webtv.net> > From: mellenpatch5@cinci.rr.com> To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com> Date: Sat, 19 Apr 2008 13:47:17 -0400> Subject: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Peter Ragon> > In the 1800 Abbeville, SC census on p. 19 is what I read as Peter Ragon 2 1> x 1 x 1 1 x 1 x. Maryellen, Looked at the name incorrectly...that makes total since given that the head of HH was a female, not a male. Unfortunaltely, I am not going to be of much help with the SC R's, since I have only been focusing primarily on Peter R. of Wilkes NC & TN. much of my research is in VA & NC. Here is some of what I have on Peter, Thomas, & William(s) There was a Peter & Thomas Reagan who enlist in Rev War in 1774 Rowan Co., NC A Peter Riggins sells land to Micajah Hart in Dobbs Co NC sometime 1777-1779 There are 2 Wm Rigins in 1778 Rowan Co., NC tax list in 2 different districts. A Peter Riggin enters land in Rowan Co NC in Mar 1779 abt same time Peter Ragan enters land in Wilkes NC in Nov 1779. A Wm Ragain is in 1779 Randolph NC Tax List A Peter Ragain is 1st Corporal in Samuel Reids Comp. in Rowan Co., NC in 1780. A Thomas Riggin is listed in 1784 Bladen Co., NC. A Peter Ragain is in Capt Davis Dist in Rowan Co., NC in 1784. There are 2 Wm Riggins in 1790 Warren NC (I think one is s/o Wm Powell Rriggin & the other posibbly s/o John & Ann Bell?) A Thomas Regan (b. by 1749-53) is in 1790 Burke NC A Thomas Regan in 1790 Orange NC A William Ragans in 1790 Chathem NC A Wm Ragon in 1797 Person NC with 0 acres A Wm Ragon & Peter Rogans both with 0 acres in 1798 Person NC Wm R in 1800 Person NC with 0 acres. Wm Riggon in 1800 Warren NC (s/o Wm Powell or John & Ann Bell) Thomas Rogan in 1800 Orange Co., NC JW Garrett <jwgarrett@webtv.net> > From: mellenpatch5@cinci.rr.com> To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com> Date: Mon, 21 Apr 2008 07:36:28 -0400> Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Peter Ragon> > I forgot to add, there is a string of women named Jemima in the Teague line.> There is a question of identity among the Josephs of Teague's line.
