John-2 children had to be born bet 1714-28 (within a 14 yr period) Mathew-2 b. 1687/d. 1716 could have children in a 8 yr period between 1708 & 1716 Is Mathew who is mentioned with Richard (in 1745) and John Chapman (in 1752) the s/o John-2?). Sorry, there are too many John's and I'm rushing with so much on my plate ...The old John Wood that Joan xxx Regan married as his #2 wife...he left a son John Wood 2 who married Elizabeth xxx. They had one son John 3 Wood. Hold that thought. Elizabeth XXX Wood then married John Regan, son of James/Joan. They had kids unnamed in his will ( 1728/30). In 1740, Elizabeth XXX Wood Regan is now married to James Carroll and is identified at the bedside of her dying son John 3 Wood, her first child. She is named as his mother. His nuncoup. will also states the presence of 2 half sisters and two half brothers. These can only be Regans. So, besides John 2 Regan, Elizabeth had 2 girls and 2 more boys with John Regan, son of James. The Persi I need to check is claimed as saying these children are Anne ( yes, she married James Ross) Mary, Mathew, and Charles. Because Charles in Stafford has his earliest child in 1731, he is either much younger than William and Bridget, late getting into town, or really socially challenged. This gives us , if I can find this guy's ref, Mathew #2, and another Charles. I think this Mathew is in John Wood's 1740 probate and is the 175x sale of MD land. He is John Wood's half brother...both by Elizabeth XXX Wood Regan Carroll. That leaves us with a Mathew dead in 1716 in VA, which could be Mathew son of James/Joan. This Mathew would be the one mentioned in the Chapman bequest, who's daughter Elizabeth's mom was a Chapman. Then, we still have Charles son of James/Joan to find. I really feel this Stafford guy is not he. But, somebody had Jemima and naughty Margaret.... so where's Charlie? Charles, son of James was born in 1692 and by 1731 is pushing 40...for a first child?... rare for this era...nope, I think this is the son of John Regan. As we move geographically, we must deal with Surry Co VA...some of the Charles Co MD cluster went there instead of Stafford...or else got redistricted to Surry...headache.
