According to Johns birth and death date his children had to be born bet 1714 & 1728/30. Thus his alleged son Charles was born 1714-1728/30. What is interesting is that the Charles of 1766 Bute NC is listed as Charles & Son Riggins. The son was likely age 16-20, b. 1746-1750. This would make Charles himself born BY 1725-1729. This would fit the Charles-3 s/o John-2. I think this Charles of Bute NC may have been f/o my Peter Riggins/Ragan. What do u think? What evidence does your source have to think to John-2 had children Anne, Charles, Mathew, and Mary? I can see how Ann & Mathew was likely John's-2 children due to John Wood's 1740 will listing Mathew Ragan & Ann Ross as next to kin (step brother & sister) via mother Elizabeth X Wood Ragan. Then I wonder what became of the Charles-2 s/o James & Joan? JW Garrett
