On the subject of variant spellings.... In the Newberry, SC , 1790 census pp 56-57 are three gentlemen listed as : Daniel Raygin 1-3-1-x-x, John Raygin 1-x-2-x-x- and Ryan Raygan 3-1-7-x-x- and on p. 55 same census is Joseph Ragen 1-1-4-x-x. Anyone care to speculate who these guys might be??? M'ellen
