    3. Does anybody know who the Timothy Ragan is who appears in the book Emigrants from Ireland to America 1735-1743, a transcription of the Report of the Irish House of Commons into Enforced Emigration to America by Frances McDonnell? The book names a Charles Regan from County Cork, Ireland and a Timothy Ragan also from County Cork, Ireland being transported to America. Timothy on March 18, 1742/43. Robert Williamson was paid sixty pounds to transport Timothy's group. Those transported were convicts, felons, or vagabonds mostly. -------------------------------------------------- From: "james garrett" <jwgarrett@webtv.net> Sent: Thursday, July 29, 2010 4:00 PM To: <ragan-roots@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] William R's > > M'ellen > Deed transaction would certainly help to identify the Wm Powell "R > mentioned in the 1744 Will of Wm. > When and where he obtained land in Stafford and when and where he sold > land when he moves to NC (if he is the Wm Powell b. 1722 who went on to > NC) > > OK I remember the Wm of Surry NC. 3. Our family lore tells of a young Ragon who wanted to come to the new land. He broke the Blue Laws (hunting on the King's land and on Sunday to boot) to win a free trip to the Americas. He was said to come from County Meath. His Mother was killed while serving food to the troops during the Battle of the Boyne (River). (We even have an Orange Ragan - named after William of Orange) He served in the Revolutionary War. 3. Charles Regan was transported about the same time as Timothy. He is on page 41 of the book which was found on line. A Thomas Reagan was trnsported in the Michaelmas session in 1739. Don't know any additional info. The book had both 1742 and 1743 written down. -------------------------------------------------- From: "james garrett" <jwgarrett@webtv.net> Sent: Tuesday, August 03, 2010 12:08 PM To: <ragan-roots@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Timothy Reagan > > Do you know when Charles Regan was transported and to where to America? > > JW Garrett > > > >> From: lrcousins@sc.rr.com >> To: ragan-roots@rootsweb.com >> Date: Thu, 29 Jul 2010 17:11:33 -0400 >> Subject: Re: [RAGAN-ROOTS] Timothy Reagan >> >> Does anybody know who the Timothy Ragan is who appears in the book >> Emigrants >> from Ireland to America 1735-1743, a transcription of the Report of the >> Irish House of Commons into Enforced Emigration to America by Frances >> McDonnell?
