I have been in the background for months, with only recent Ragan data, which has been worked back to a point where my efforts result in ever diminishing returns. Perhaps some of you can help me now. My Ragan line goes back to Robert O. Ragan, b. in KY abt 1820, d. after 1880 in ?MO, with his parents being born in Maryland. That comes from 1860 to 1880 census in Laclede Co, MO. From various local tidbits and some good single sources, the following is Robert O. Ragan's family, etc. Robert O. Ragan, b. 1820, Kentucky, died after 1880. married 1 Feb 1848 in Kentucky to, Nancy A. Prater, b. 24 Dec, 1822, in Simpson Co. KY, died 19 Oct,1877, Laclede Co, MO children, all sons... John Bell Ragan, b. Dec, 1848, KY md Mary Mavel Oliver, b. Aprl, 1850, Dickson Co, TN Wilson L. Ragan, b. 1850, KY md Lucy M. Titterington, Javan Ragan, b. abt 1854, MO, md. Mary E. Murphy Sylvester Ragan, b abt 1857, MO Monroe Ragan, b. abt 1859, MO md Susan Armstrong Robert G. Ragan, b. abt 1861, MO My line is from John B. Ragan. He moved to Erath Co, Texas abt. 1885 and raised his daughter (my line) and four sons there until most of them moved to Union Co, NM.abt 1905. Any one recognize this family? or know how I can examine the Maryland->-Kentucy Ragan branches? As far as I can find their name was consistently sp. Ragan. Reagan is a thin possibility.
