    1. [RAGAN-ROOTS-L] Re: RAGAN-ROOTS database-GedCom
    2. Josie, I would *love* to include your family tree into our RAGAN-ROOTS database. Just send what you'd like to have entered to me via private email. As for your question about GedComs ... A GedCom is a text file format that lets genealogy programs share information. The info can be shared by different software and/or across platforms (PC-.Mac, Mac->PC). You'll need a genealogy program to use it. And there are several different software programs to choose from. Some are shareware and others are commercial. I use a Macintosh and really *love* the Reunion software. I have FTM too, but don't like it as well as Reunion. Once you have a genealogy program with GedCom capability you can surf over to our cousin Bill REAGAN's site (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/billreagan/) and download the main RAGAN-ROOTS GedCom. I'd also like to announce that RootsWeb has just given me web Space for our RAGAN-ROOTS database. I've done the preliminary work, but haven't yet been able to upload our GedCom to it. I may need help from some of you Web experts with this one. Anyone care to volunteer? (Sorry but I'm a Web Dummy.) Good Luck, Michael W.
