Hi! I just subscribed to RAGON-ROOTS and I have great expectations. I have always been interested in genealogy and picked up bits and pieces of my family history from time to time, but never really did anything in depth. Now I am a senior citizen, semi-retired and I feel it's time I did something about it. Here is all the Regan history I know from my line. My paternal grandfather was Patrick Henry REGAN b. Boyle, County Roscommon, Ire. m. Ida Ada SAGE Dec. 31, 1890 in Naugatuck, Co. d. in Naugatuck 1950? Records show that my grandfather was baptized in St. Josephs parish Boyle, County Roscommon on Aug. 27, 1863. Oral history says that he came to the US as an infant or very young child. His father was Edward Regan and mother was Mary Murray? Regan. Patrick was also accomonpied by a brother Edward, who settled in Union City, Co. also a sister Mary who married APPLEGATE and lived in White Plains, N.Y. There was a younger brother Thomas born in the US. I have no further information on this line. My mother told me that the name had been Reagan but the "a" was dropped. There is also a family story that 1 to 3 other adults accompanied the family on the voyage but later on returned to Ireland. I hope someone out there knows us! I would really like to find some cousins. Thank You! Margaret
