I am searching John Nathan Reagan and told you I would send a few things I have on him. He is the one I told you started a small resort comunity called Reagan Wells in Central Texas, Uvalde Co. He was born Oct. 20, 1852 (Texas, I think) and died Sept 2, 1916 in Uvalde, Tx. Was married to Mary Ann Payne (Molly} born Jan 1, 1860 in either Mo. or Tx. Her parents were Barney and Rachel Payne. Barney was born March 3, 1828, died April 7, 1910 , Rachel born Feb 12, 1838, died May 21, 1918, all except John Nathan are buried in Barksdale, Tx. cemetary, John Nathan in Uvalde, Tx. The children born to John N. and Mary Ann are: James Monroe Reagan, born Sept. 23, 1878 Willie David Reagan born Nov 16, 1879 Laura May Reagan, June 17, 1882 Barney Elven Reagan, June 30, 1884 Frank Thomas Reagan, Jan 26, 1886 Rachel Emily Reagan, Sept. 23, 1887 Altie Etter Reagan, April 20, 1889 Marce Silus Lessie Reagan, May 11, 1891 Joe Calvin Reagan, Sept 15, 1894 Millie Maud Reagan, April 1, 1896 Some interesting tid-bits about this family can be found on the following internet address. A letter from Laura (Reagan) Satathite, oldest daughter of John N. about the country as it was being settled around 1880. This is in a book by Allan Stovall called "Nueces Headwater Country" published around 1958 by Naylor. The Barksdale cemetary markings have a number of Reagans and an old picture of the Reagan Wells hotel is also found there,together with the newspaper advertising, (Talk about 'snake oil' advertising, it's funny to read.) The letter by Ross Cromeans about world war 1 is also interesting. He is a brother in law to Barney Elvin (Bud) Reagan.
