It's something I have enjoyed doing over the past few years. I feel like I'm doing something very important to help preserve our heritage. I should caution you that our database and/or discussion group should be used only as a lead. There's nothing here that could be considered a 'Proof'. PLEASE remember that. And I appreciate your support of Roots Web. They've done an awful lot for the world of genealogy and certainly deserve all the support we can give them. Dr. Brian Leverich and his wife Karen have spent a *lot* of their own money (not to mention their time) to keep Roots-Web up and running. I'm also glad to hear you were able to make use of the RAGAN-ROOTS archive that Roots-Web maintains. For those of you that didn't know, you can find an archive of all our past discussions at: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl. Once you reach this page just type in: ragan-roots. This will take you to a search page where you can type in any word or phrase you wish to look for in the archive. Try it I think you'll be surprised with what's there. I also understand your comment about looking through our 20,000+ name database (which is now over 30,000 names). It does require a computer with quite a bit of memory AND hard drive space to handle it. First you'll need to download the GedCom from our cousin Bill REAGAN's web site (http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/billreagan/). Then you'll need to decompress it. Then you'll need some genealogy software with the ability to import a GedCom. In case the archive (mentioned above) doesn't give you enough to look over I'll paste (below) some other RAGAN/REAGAN/RAGON (...etc.) Web pages for you to check out. I've had a busy day today and I'm ready to hit the sack. But before I do I feel like I should say 'Thank You' to all of our cousins that have submitted your own lineage to our database. It would be nothing without your help. So just KEEP 'EM COMING Y'all! Good Night Cousins! Michael W.
