Our email discussion group has been in operation for a little over two years now and when I last checked we had around 280 members. We would be *very* happy to receive your contributions. In fact we would love to hear from you! Sometimes when someone submits their information we discover another family link (to another member of our group) in their lineage. You just may discover some new cousins that you didn't know existed. In order to send any messages to the group you'll need to turn off the 'rich-text' or 'html' formating in your email software. That format seems to cause problems with the ROOTS-WEB server. So because of that they won't let these types of messages go through. They also cannot accept attached files. I'm not familiar with PC's (which I assume you have) so I'm afraid I can't tell you how it's done. I'll send a 'cc' (carbon copy) of this msg to the group. Perhaps one of our cousins can offer some suggestions. Can someone help our new cousin? Please send the answer directly to Nathan at: [email protected] Also, I seem to have become the collection point for all the RAGAIN/RAGAN/RAGON/REAGAN/REGAN (...etc.) family lineages. I maintain the *main* RAGAN-ROOTS database. If you choose to submit your lineage to the database please understand that this information is freely shared with any researcher. You also will find it posted on the Internet. I will be glad to add your contact info (email, snailmail adress and phone number-if you wish) to the lineage so other researchers can get in touch with you if need be. If you would like to submit your lineage you can send it to the group via text files (in an email msg) or to me directly the same way or as an attached file. My prefered way is to get the information is in GedCom format (which most all genealogy software can export). GedComs can be sent inside of an email msg (if small enough) or as an attached file if larger. By submitting a GedCom your info will get into the database much quicker since it saves me a *lot* of typing. Good Luck hunting your ancestors and new cousins! Michael W.
