The following is a will abstract for Somerset Co., MD (unfortunately, I forgot to copy the name of the book, but I think it was just called Will Abstracts of Worcester and Somerset Co., MD. Test: Purnell Outten; David Matthews (could this be Mary's husband?); Obed Riggen Wills 41, f. 82. Inv. * Accts. * The following was found in the Coventry Parish Records: Shadrak Riggen and Comfort Cameron were m. 18 Sept 1764. Children listed were: Rueben, b. 20 Sep 1765 Elisabeth, b. 5 Aug 1767 Jesse, b. 25 May 1769 Rachel, b. 13 Mar 1771 I was sent the following on Aug 11, 1997 by someone who did a lookup for me: Will of John McCREADY, Somerset Liber WK, folio 127, written 9 Jun 1779, probated 12 Jul 1779, included the folowing item: to nephews and nieces - Rubin Riggin, Jesse Riggin, Elizabeth Riggin, Rachel Riggen children of Shadrack Riggin dec'd, legacy left by my dec'd wife by her father John Riggin. I take it this most likely meant that McCready married Shadrack Riggin's sister (which looks to be the Sarah McCrady mentioned in John Riggin's will) On Aug 22, 1997, I was sent the following as the result of a lookup: Dryden's Worcester Co. Land Records: p. 138: Conveniency, 19 Dec 1798, Jesse Riggin and wife Sarah sold 28 acres willed by Hugh Stephenson to daughter Sarah p. 285: Hard Labour, 13 Jan 1807, Jesse Riggin and wife Sarah sold 100 acres, originally purchased 10 Dec 1798 p. 387: Mardike, 19 Dec 1798, John Ayres sold 19 1/2 acres to Jess Riggin p. 518: Reserve, 21 Feb 1806, Josiah Davis and wife sold 37 acres to Jesse Riggin of which he sold with wife Sally 20 3/4 acres on 3 Mar 1809 p. 558: Selbys Outlet: 19 May 1807, Joseph E. Bishop with wife Arlanta sold 68 acres to Jesse Riggin In the will of Elizabeth Morris, Worcester Co., Will (1813-1822), Liber MH, f. 87-88: witness: Jesse Riggin (moved to Western Country by 1815) [I was told this mostly like meant Jesse had moved to what became KY]. Also, a Jesse Riggin was witness to will of George Schoolfield, Wor. Co., Will, Liber JWB, p. 326, 19 Dec 1797, pr. 12 Jan 1798.
