    1. [RAGAN-ROOTS-L] RE-exporting a GedCom for our main database

It should'nt be too hard. Look at your instructions under "Exporting GedComs". Once you get it exported just send it via email as an attached file and I'll take it from there. What I'll do is import it into a new file, open it and make a compasison to our existing database. Then I'll mark the people we don't have and put them into the main database. One thing you need to consider is people who are still living. Sometimes they may object to being listed. They might consent if you list their birthdates as "Private". Or you can just request that I don't "mark" them in the main database. (That way when I export a new GedCom to be posted on the Net they won't be included.) Whatever...just be sure to check. I have had objections in the past and I certainly don't want to upset anyone. It's a privacy thing I guess. Sometimes people will allow their names and dates to be listed as long as they're not included in the GedComs I post on the Net. And I can handle that. Personally I don't understand why anyone would object, but then I'm a genealogist. I want to be sure *all* our research and information on my family is preserved for all our future descendants to research.
