Hello Cousins! Thought I would throw my information out there again since there has been a flood of Randolph County, Georgia RAGANs lately. Mine are SUPPOSED to be Randolph Co., Alabama (which is on the Georgia state line) but I am beginning to think we (the family) have it wrong. I am looking for information on the following: Mr. ? RAGAN Millie/Mollie ?? (Cherokee Indian) RAGAN (don't know how many children they had) daughter: Mary RAGAN married a Mr. John Thomas Goodson of Villa Rica, GA. They lived in Randolph Co., Alabama. (There actually is a RAGAN cemetary there which I plan to visit). They had 4 children - I think - one of whom was my great-grandmother Mary Lewis Goodson. Miss Goodson married Mr. Lewis R. Fikes and they resided in Hamilton, Alabama (Marion County). Mary RAGAN Goodson apparantly died in Randolph Co. (though I can't substantiate this) when my great-grandmother was quite young. My great-grandmother, Mary Lewis Goodson Fikes, was born in 1889 in Randolph Co., Alabama. Her mother, this Mary RAGAN Goodson, was apparantly quite Cherokee. I've one photograph of her with Mr. Goodson and I think she probably was Native American to a great degree. Anyway, I'm having trouble going higher in the tree than this Mary RAGAN Goodson's mother. Can't find her father or beyond, but we definitely have some Cherokee RAGANs here in Alabama. One interesting footnote: Great-great-grandpa Goodson remarried 4 times after Mary RAGAN - outliving each wife. Each wife was named "Mary". Go Grandpa! Does anyone have ANYTHING? Thank you! Alicia
