Hello from western Washington! My paternal side of the family is the Regan (originally O'Regan) group. I have traced them back to the late 1700s, and it seem that all the men have died very early: gg grandfather died 57 yo, g grandfather died 37 yo, grandfather died 58 yo, father died 54 yo, my brother and I are both in our 60s. The principal cause of death seems to be heart disease. On another matter, I would be very grateful if someone could help me locate the family of Clem Regan, son of William Regan. Clem was born circa 1906. The rumor is that he passed away in either Oregon and Washington, but I cannot seem to confirm that with death indices. In case you might be interested, my gg grandfather's brother John O'Regan went to Australia and then to New Zealand in the middle of the 1800s looking for gold. I have a 12 page letter he wrote to his grand niece Nellie in Glendive, Montana. The letter was written in 1899 from Auckland, N.Z. Recently I came in e-mail contact with a young woman from Auckland researching such letters, and she says she can help me locate information on old John O'Regan, someone of whom nothing is known by his family except for the letter. The letter, by the way, contained a lot of interesting family history. Happy New Year! Dennis Regan.
