Well! All you really healthy families out there, congratulations! This is the other end of the spectrum: Both g-grandparents, Cornelius Ragan & Catherine Noonan, died at age 70. Catherine proceeded her husband in death but outlived 4 of their 11 children. Cornelius lived another 7 years during which time another child died. Finally tally: 3 died in infancy. Patrick died at age 26 the day before he was to marry. Michael at age 45. My grandfather, Leo, died at at age 59, three years before my birth. Cornelius, Jr., at age 60. Eldest son, Thomas Joseph, at age 73. Eldest daughter, Mary, died at age 76. Two others, Francis and Margaret are unknown. My father is still alive and healthy at 77. His sister, Mary, is 73. So we are making progress. A little historical note . . . Mary was born in and is still living in the same house in which Cornelius lived. But, then again, not much changes in Springfield, Illinois.
