Hi cousins, I just thought I would update what I know about a lost branch of my family tree. In the past I said that Tom Ragan had served in the Civil War. New evidence suggests that he wasn't born until after the Civil War. Although I do not have an exact date for his birth, I believe that he would have been born somewhere between 1890 to the early 1900's. I have mixed pictures of Tom Ragan thought to be a.k.a. Thomas Abraham Ragan. In one picture he is standing with two women wearing long dresses and hats of the time 1900's-20's period. I can send a digitized copy to any one in interest. The women are labeled Wanda and Lue or Lou. It could be that Wanda is whom would be come his wife. No last name is given for the ladies. One the back is it addressed to S.J. Ragan c/o Joe Ragan. S.J. Ragan was my great grandmother "Sallie Jane (Roberts) Ragan" and Joe would have been my grandfather "William Joe Ragan". It appears at the time they lived in Inola, Oklahoma. I think this would have been about the 1920 to 1930 time frame because Sallie died in 1931. Other records indicate that Tom Ragan may have at some point moved to New Mexico. It is not known at this time where he died or where his decendants may have lived. Another picture I have shows "Mary Jane (Ragan)" with a son called little Tom. Mary Jane would be Thomas Abraham's daughter. This family would be something as: Solomon Dixon Ragan m. Sallie Jane (Roberts) Ragan children: 1 M) William Joseph Ragan. 2 F) Belle Lutisha Ragan. 3 F) Mildred "Millie" Magdaline Ragan. 4 F) Doshey "Dosh" Ragan. 5 M) Thomas Abraham Ragan. <**** m. Wanda? ______? |_> Mary Jane (Ragan) ______? |_> Little Tom ______? 6 F) Mandy Lou Ragan. Any input on this line is greatly appreciated! Ron Ragan. - ----------------------------------------------------------- Get free personalized email at http://www.switchboardmail.com
