I'm sorry, but I have to add my great aunt here. She was not of Ragan blood was born in Canada of hard working English immigrants. Great Aunt Jane was born in 1888 and lived to 103 years and almost 9 months. She lived in a small ocean community and worked hard all of her life until the last 5 years, when my aunt had to put her and her baby sister in a nursing home. Until that time she lived in her own house After she retired she would go back to work if she wanted anything expensive. She was a teacher, a secretary and taught illeterates at the Army base. But I think that the hard work, self reliance, and plain good eating and living says a lot for these old timers. Maybe we could all learn a lesson from them.
