Timothy Ragan is not a sibling of Nathan, Jesse and Owen. He is the Timothy Ragan who settled in Sevier Co., Tn. and the ancestor of Donald B. Reagan. 1830 Know Co., KY census: Owen Ragan 102100100001-2100100111. Most posts states his birth ca 1753. There is no age stated in his RW pension application. Jesse Ragan RW pension application in Person Co., NC, 19 Sep, 1832, states his age as "about seventyeight years". ca 1754. Nathan Ragan: 1830 Dickson Co., TN census: 0311200001-00010. The 5-10 males are Nathan's sons Moses, Washington and George W.and the older are his stepsons. Birth 1750-1760. The Patsey Ragon listed in the 2nd down from Nathan Ragon in the 1800 Census of Person Co., NC. Who married William Jones in Orange Co., NC ca 1803, and the couple came to Dickson Co., Tn. William Jones died bef. 1818, Patsy Jones and Nathan Ragan sign the estate settlement papers as co- administrators. I have no record of the children listed with her in 1800 census. Nathan Ragan was appointed guardian of Middleton, Richmond and Elizabeth Jones minor children of William Jones, desc, by Dickson Co. Court 7 April, 1823. Neither Martha(Patsy) nor her decendants are listed as legatees in the 1846 Lawsuit concerning Nathan's estate which very probably excludes her as a daughter of Nathan Ragan She may be the widow of Nathan's son John ( I have no verification of either) but the fact that two of his sons named a son John. ----- Original Message ----- From: "james garrett" <jwgarrett@webtv.net> To: <ragan-roots@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 7:21 AM Subject: [RAGAN-ROOTS] 1755 Granville & 1770 Orange NC John Ragon > > Ok > Owen Rgn says he was born in Granville NC. So do you think likely that the John Jr (with John Sr in 1770 Orange) b. by 1749 could be a brother of Owen, Jesse, and Nathan? And where did this John Jr go to aft 1770? Thus John Sr b. by 1728 had sons b. late 1740's through 1750's?
