Hi, My name is Bonnie. I have just joined the Ragan Mailing List. My Nancy Wiseman b.1802 in Newberry Co. SC married a Reagin (first name unknown). I am seeking the first name of her Reagin husband and his parents and siblings. Their marriage must have occurred in SC as their first son was born there in about 1829. They later moved to AL. Hello Mark and others. From the 1870 census (data from Judy Swan) it appears that Javon's wife was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Atchley who had a farm near Lebanon, MO. I feel that my RIGGIN/S roots are very closely tied to the recent post tracking back to Teague RIGGIN in Somerset, MD. I've tracked my line back as far as William RIGGIN, born approx. 1688 in Virginia. He married Elizabeth Bridget about 1713. Their children were: Elizabeth RIGGINS - born about 1715 in VA John RIGGINS - born Nov. 3, 1717 in VA? William Powell RIGGINS - born April 10, 1722 in VA; died 1770 in Bute, NC (now Warren County, NC) - this is my line. I've always figured I would eventually link with Teague and his family, but can't quite get there yet. Anyone have any information that might provide such a link? Thanx
I congratulate Lee in comming on Ragan Roots and fisrt snap tracing his familly all the way back to Ireland. I envy him. I have been to Ireland a couple of times and plan another trip there next summer. I would love to be able to locate family there. I have yet to be able to make contact with Ragans in Virginia. I have been seeking the parents or siblings of William Ragan who married Jane Robinson Dec 14. 1812 in Caroline Co., Va.. He is our g grandfather. There are several other Ragans in that time frame in Caroline Co., but we have not documented relationship. We have a contact in WI that may have this documentation.
