Can anyone help me to find out what happened to my grandfather Bertie QUICK who was born in Chelsea on 7th August 1882, the son of William and Martha Quick. He served in the Royal Garrison Artillery from 1902 to 1908 and again from 1914 to 1923 when he was discharged. He married my grandmother Harriet Abigail BASSANT in Ramsgate Kent on 20th May 1907 and had three children. During WW1 he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal. However he did not return to his family and I do not know how to find out what happened to him. I have searched for a Death Certificate in the PRO but with no success as I have no idea where he was living or when he died. Can anyone tell me how I can go about trying to trace him - or does any of the above sound familiar to you? I would be very grateful for any help at all. Pam Ponsford
