    1. RE: [QUICK] 1790 Rowan Co., NC Census
    2. I'm the 5th GGrandson of the Tunis in this Rowan Co. 1790 census. One of my distant cousins has advanced the theory that Richard (who was an ensign in the local militia during Rev. War) may be the father of both Tunis and Benjamin. Tunis or Teunis (b. ? - d. 3-Jun-1809 in Estill Co., KY) m. Mary Winkler (? - ?) son: James Quick (F940 in Q.F.A.) m. Based on his name, it seems likely that Tunis is a descendent of Theunis (A1 in Q.F.A). We have been unable to make the connection however... past Tunis (F940) the trail drops off. If anybody out there can add any detail on or before Tunis I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Brian -- Brian Quick (bquick@ittesi.com) Lead Network Administrator ITT Educational Services, Inc.
