Since I posted I've learned a bit more of this family. James QUICK and Georgianna (Ann) PATERSON of Delaware Twp., Middlesex County by License pre-registration married by Rev. Wm. Ames, Weslyan Methodist, 11 Jun 1851. Witnesses: Andrew PATERSON.....twin brother of bride. Agnes GOWANLOCK.....sister-in-law of bride's older sister. They must have married later as Ann PATERSON is listed in the 1851 Census for Delaware Twp. as living with her parents, James and Mary PATERSON, and her twin brother, Andrew PATERSON. This family was from Dumfries, Scotland and came to Ontario about 1833. In the 1878 County Atlas, a James Quick is listed in the Ekfred Twp. Con. I,19 and I, 20.......very close to Glencoe. This is the only James Quick I could find. This is as far as I've gone, but since I started this last September I'm not discouraged yet!
