There is a Thomas Quick on the Quicke family pedigree (the visitation of the county of Devon) that died in 1611 but I see no son named Thomas mentioned. One interesting note is that Thomas's last name is Quick but his children are Quicke. I did find a record that a Thomas Quicke from Devon contributed 25 pounds in 1588 to help defend England from the Spanish. Another question I am trying to figure out is the origin on the quick surnname. The Quicke family in Devon that makes cheese, once mentioned on their website that it came from the the Saxon tribal and kingdom name called "Hwicce". I have found de Quike, de Quicke, and Quick sunames in ancient Lancashire County in the 1200's-1300's. In Lancashire County (now Manchester) There is a village called Quick. In Norman times it was called the Manor of Saddleworth-cum-Quick and it was normal for the Lords of the manor to take the Surname of their land.
