I have been searching for Marcus Quick and Carrie Kimble they had a child in Mombaccus, New York in 1908 his name is Chester Quick and he was an Orphan Train Rider after being placed in a orphanage, we were told cause his mother died during childbirth. Chester has passed away but his widow, Grandma wants to tell him when she sees him in heaven that she found his parents. The spellings I provided are what are on his death certificate. Chester remembers helping his dad sap maple trees to make maple syrup and maple sugar. They may have been enroute to other places when Chester was born in N.Y. I started writing letters to Ulster County, NY Genealogy Society, and the Historical Society and to CAS Office of closed records. Grandma is 89 years old and not in good shape. She keeps on falling and she can't get herself up afterwards. I don't even know if Sugar Maple Trees even grow in New York. But they had to live somewhere where the trees grow. It's possible they traveled ! to the nearest hospital and it was in Mombaccus, NY and that they traveled back to NY to put him in an orphanage. I will check into the one in PA. Hopefully I can find him somewhere. I did get on hit on a Marcus Quick and one other in the line of Teunis Thomaszen Quick and I was hoping it was them. Thanks again, Brenda Olson

    1. RE: [QUICK] Re: Quick Book
    2. Hulda is listed in the book "Quick Family in America". You can get it on my web site at: http://www.foospace.com/genealogy/qfa.txt To help you understand how this book is organized, Hulda is listed as: H 1971 HULDA C. QUICK (G975) This means Hulda is individual #H 1971. The number in parentheses (G975) is her parent. You can use this to work your way backward. It looks like there are a couple more generations back for here in QFA. Hope this helps! I do know that after they were married at some point they were from Northeast Pennsylvania, because I believe they are burried in Nicholson, Pa. One of the children that Hulda & George had was Ruth. If you have easy access to that information , I would appreciate if might share that info with me ....... census year , page # of the census , county, and state. Thanx for your time. I am decendant of Soloman and Elizabeth. I will see what I can find on that family. If you go to the usgenweb.com you can view census for the different states if you haven't done that already. I will keep you in mind during my search.
