    1. Re: [QUICK] Luther and Elzora Quick of Alabama
    2. Suzanne, Please check out the ancestry of Hank Williams; His Mother was a Quick, and that family was from N.C. & S.C. before going to Alabama. In your search you might find some Native American Ancestry. Good luck on your searches, from a descendant of Rachel Skipper Wallace, sister of Elizabeth Skipper Quick, and daughters of Barnabus Skipper. Sincerely, Tom Ross

    1. [QUICK] Luther and Elzora Quick of Alabama

    3. I just started researching the Quick side of my husbands family and came across some of your queries. My mother in law is a Quick from Cullman County AL, Her parents were Luther Quick b. 16 Feb 1916 d. 31 Oct 1983 buried in Duck River Baptist Cem with wife. Elzora (Melton) Quick b.6 Oct 1924 d. 22 May 1981. The Family records and history that I have been able to put together is a mess to say the least. Luther's siblings names are possibly Lee, Diener and Viener (twin girls) James, and Thelbert. I know for sure that Thelbert is a Quick, my mother in law could not remember if these were her mom or dads sibling names. The names for Elzora's siblings are Vera who married a Ballard and resided in Hanceville, Gladys, Less, Oliver, Lou, and Emmet(who was a builder in Hanceville and built Luther and Elzora's Alabama home). Elzora's parents were Hattie and John Allen Melton. Any help at all with this Quick family would be very appreciated. My husbands last name is Turner. The family is originally from both South and North Carolina. They then migrated to Tenn. Some stopped for a short time in Rutherford county then moved on to Hickman and Dickson counties. If our Turner lines cross as well, I have information to share on this family. Thank you Suzanne V. Wirtz - Turner SuzanneV@peoplepc.com

    3. Morris is a name used several times in my branch of Quicks. According to Winslow Quick's death certificate his father's name was Morris. Winslow Quick was born Dec. 21, 1827 in Charleston Township, Montgomery Co. New York On May 4, 1851 he married Ruth Humphrey at the Church of Christ there. In the mid 1850s they moved to Wisconsin. He died in Patch Grove Township, Grant Co. Wisconsin on January 12, 1922. One of his sons was named Morris born 1859. Morris had two sons: George b. 1883 and James b. 1900 Does this fit with any data you have? ----- Original Message ----- From: <Tharring7@yahoo.com> To: <QUICK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 09, 2002 1:21 AM Subject: [QUICK] quick or funk in wisconsin > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TBCBAIB/895 > > Message Board Post: > > looking for the heritage of morris quick sr. and verna funk of wisconsin. this is my wifes family and all she was told is that there was canadian indian. long shots are ok,let me know. thanks and god bless > > > ==== QUICK Mailing List ==== > This Quick List was established primarily for the descendants of Thomas Quick, ca.1743 Bertie Co.
