First, a Question: Where was Moses Queen prior to 1810 Burke Co., NC? 1810 Burke County, NC census pg 131 Moses Queen Male 26<45 (= b. ca 1765-1784) Female 26<45 Male <10 (2 of 'em) (= b. ca 1800-1810) Female <10 John Mcfalls listed next door and Richard Queen listed 2 houses away (who was Richard?) Female 45+ Female 16<26 Male 10<16 (4 of 'em) Female 10<16 Female <10 (3 of 'em) John Wisenhunt listed 9 houses from Moses. Only female in John's household was age 26<45. John apparently the same age. 1820 Burke Co., NC, pg 109 (There is a Joshua Hall on an earlier page) Moses Queen Male 45+ (= born before 1775) Female 45+ Male 16<26 (=b. ca 1794-1804) (I suggest Solomon) Male 10<16 (= b. ca 1804-1810) (Could be Tobias. If born 1804=23 in 1827) Female 10<16 Male <10 (2) (= b. ca 1810-1820) Female <10 A William York lived 3 houses away. William was 45+ ......Now, insert Jerry Dyer's 3-2-1827 Burke County survey of 100 acres for a Tobias Queen...the land adjoining a Moses Queen; with chainbearers (?) an Adam Swink and an Elijah Roper. (A James Roper lived next door to Moses in 1830.) 1830 Burke, pg 137 Moses Queen Male 50<60 (= b. ca 1770-1780)(Zeroes in on 3 census to b. ca 1770-1775) Female 50<60 Male 20<30 (2 of 'em) (= b. ca 1800-1810) (I suggest Solomon and Tobias) Male 15<20 Female 15<20 Male 10<15 Female 10<15 Listed 2 houses away is William York, age 60<70 Listed 12 houses away is Riley York, age 20<30 1840 Burke, pg 350 Sol Queen Male 30<40 (= b. ca 1800-1810) Female 15<20 (= b. ca 1820-1825) Male <5 Next door is Riley York, age 20<30 (apparently not the same as the one above unless the Riley of 1840 was one of the younger males in the 1830 HH). 1840 Burke, pg 365 Moses Queen 70<80 (= b. ca 1760-1770) (This & above nails him as b. ca 1770) Female 70<80 .....But, where are the children from 1830? Son, Solomon, is listed above...but two grown boys missing. One is probably Tobias. Where did they go between 1830-1840 and where are they in 1840? Solomon later names sons, Andy and Pinkney....did he name one of these after a brother? Does an Andy or Pinkney of the right age show up with Tobias anywhere in 1840? 1850 Burke, pg 352 Solomon Queen, age 46 (= b. ca 1804) Saphronia, 30 Moses, 10 Solamon, 6 Tobias, 2 ....Now, insert Jerry Dyer's post of 1-27-1855 land for Solomon Queen, adjoining his own land. (Solomon's 1850 R.E. value was $310) 1860 Burke, pg 819-820 Solomon Queen, 58 (= b. ca 1802) (R.E. value now up to $800, see above) Fanny, 45 Moses, 18 Solomon, 14 Tobias, 12 Andy M., 11 Sarah, 8 Pinkney, 3 Nancy, 4/12 1870 Burke, pg 337 Soloman Queen, 67 (= b. ca 1803) Phanne (?), 49 Jonas, 24 Tobias, 21 Andey McD, 17 Sarah E., 15 Pinkney, 12 Malinda, 11 Lettie, 5 ......Now, let's have some of these folks grow up and move to Georgia or elsewhere.
