Hi Group, My apologies for not getting some data on Burke County to the group, but... have been busy on another project which has a deadline of this summer - for a reunion - and have not been able to work on the Queen line from Burke. However, (as they say)... Some interesting info for as much speculation or debate or facts to add, etc... Moses Queen (b. c. 1775) 1. Merideth, b. c. 1802 2. Female Queen b. c. 1804 3. James C. Queen b. c. 1806 4. Solomon Queen b. c. 1808-9 5. Male Queen b. c. 1812 6. Female Queen b. c. 1814 Realize this is not much, but the fact that Moses Queen ALWAYS gave this line-up (in numbers) on the census records, pretty well confirms the number of sons and daughters. Moses continued to furnish census takers this data even though the children had left the household and married, raising a family of their own. My James C. Queen data has been posted previously. Solomon married Sophronia York, dau. of William R. York of Burke County, late of Yorkshire, England. I have to do more research and analysis of the data before I could defend this line-up. Hope anyone with info, or suggestions, will post to the list. That way, all can see just what is going with "Queens of Burke County." Regards, Jerry.
