Hi Gene, There is nothing that proves that Samuel DID NOT have a son Samuel. He didn't have a son Samuel who "lived". Isn't there a possibility that he did have a son Samuel, who may have been born and died in between census counts. Just thought I put that thought out there. Actually I've had the folks you are puzzling about sorted in just that manner, for the last 5 years.
