I believe this branch of the family came back east to Rutherford County prior to 1860. I see William and Mira on the 1860 Rutherford census in Morgan township, which is the Montford's Cove area. The death certificate for WAQ, Jr. gives mothers name as Myrum. WAQ, Jr. (1835-1915) is buried in Montford's Cove Baptist Cemetery. Montfords Cove was the Queen home for this line for a couple of generations at least. It may have been more convenient to go to Marion for a wedding than Rutherfordton, it's a tossup which is closer. You'll be hard pressed to find Montford's Cove on a map. Look for Whitehouse in the DeLorme Atlas. I wouldn't spend too much time in researching McDowell county. There are Queens there, but seemingly unconnected. My grandfather had a store in Marion until the depression, but he moved around. There was never any mention of kin in McDowell and there weren't any at family reunions. The next generation moved closer to Rutherfordton and then spread out far and wide. As for other children of WAQ, Sr. I only have circumstantial evidence. The only Queen in the cemetery I don't know is Sarah L. Queen, July 30, 1884-June 9, 1886, daughter of ANQ. ANQ would likely be a bit younger than WAQ, Jr. Maybe he's a younger brother. For you, I'll substitute a hearty handshake for the kiss. --Phil Minch--
