    1. [QUEEN] James H. Queen & Isabella Bryson
    2. O Eugene Queen
    3. Hi all, Remember the Queen and Bryson marriage bond of 1829 Haywood County which caused so much confusion until circumstantial evidence seems to have cleared it up? James Queen (b. 1808) and Isabella Bryson were the newlyweds; but who was the Wm Queen who was the bondsman? Could it be that this was William Queen (b. ca 1802-1804) a brother to James? (There are other possibilities, such as William B. Queen, son of Samuel who married Dicey; and William Lewis Queen...any others in the area and old enough at the time?) But, tinkering with the possibility of this William simply being the oldest son of Samuel of 1776-1780. Wm would have been the oldest of 4 sons (?Wm, James, Alfred and Hugh) in the household of the 1820 Haywood census. William goes to Burke before 1824 where he married Mary Ann Patton that year? Then back to Haywood by 1829 and serves as bondsman for brother, James. A James and William are on 1830 Macon Co census, Macon recently being created. 1840 Habersham Co: Samuel Queen Hugh Queen 1840 Rabun Co: William Queen ****** Supposing that this is true and that this Samuel Queen left Montgomery County, NC after the 1810 census and was in Haywood by Jan 1820, did he stop enroute to visit/stay with/near relatives in Burke County? In the 1820's, son William return to Burke to marry Mary Ann Patton, then to Macon by 1829 and on to Rabun Co, Ga by 1840? Who was in Burke in 1810? Moses Queen (26-45) Richard Quinn (10-16) oldest female (45+) Who was in Burke in 1820? John Queen (45+)(per index) Moses Queen (45+) Ashford Quinn (16-26) Nancey Quinn (26-45) Burke in 1830? John Queen (50-60) also a male age 20-30 Moses Queen (50-60) William Queen James Quinn ************** Anyone have any more details concerning the marriage of a William Queen and Mary Ann Patton in Burke County, NC on 5-6-1824? Name of bondsman, witness, bride's parents, etc.? **** Yep, just messing around. Trying to find a possible Burke County connection for my Samuel Queen of 1776-80. Gene
