I have some notes from Mr. L.G. Queen of John's Creek Rd in Jackson County, NC. He is a descendant of Old William Queen through his son Samuel and Samuel's son John R. Queen. His notes say, "I have no way of knowing if these were all of the children Grandpappy Sam had, I have reason to believe they are not as no mention is made of the one who married an Indian woman and settled in Swain County, the ancestor of those Indians named Queen at Cherokee." He lists: 1. John R. Queen- married Mary Coward, daughter of Jonathan Coward. 2. Nancy Queen- married Same Carson 3. Sallie Queen- married Allen Broome. Their only son was William Lewis Dewey known as "Uncle Billy" Broome. 4. Harmon Queen- married Mary Brock. 5. William B. Queen- married Mary Nicholson. 6.
