    3. Hello everyone, I am a new member of this list and I would like to ask for some help please. My g.g.grandfather, Richard Griffin, was married in Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1849. According to the 1871 census he was born in Ireland abt.1830. His death certificate showed his parents as Michael Griffin (Farmer)and Agnes Griffin ms.Queen. The death certificate of his brother Michael, who died on 22nd September 1856 aged 21yrs., gave the parents as Michael Griffin(Farm labourer) and Mary Ann Griffin ms.Queen. This is all the information I have. Someone on the list mentioned recently that the name was originally McQueen and that they came from the Isle of Skye. I was told by a distant cousin that my Grandfather's family came originally from Skye but I had found no evidence of this. Could anybody let me have a "potted history" of the Queen/McQueen Clan or tell me where I can find one please? I note that there are only three 'Queens' on the "index to Griffith's' Valuation". Many thanks Joan Peduzzi Manchester, England
