Okay family here is the question. John Albert Queen is apparently married three times. First to Martha Jammerson. Second to Mattie Kizer and 3rd to Rose Stanton. However, on the 1900 Federal Census for North Carolina it states he has a son Marvin (Martin?) KIZER living with him and Sarah KIZER and then two children Leroy P(?) Queen and and a daughter whose name I couldn't make out. Then in the 1910 census for High Shoals Township the Kizer children are gone. How come he has Kizer children living with him before marrying their mother. Can someone fill in the gaps for me? Explain the situation. Also, How come I can't find a census record for John A Queen before 1900 in North Carolina? Do we know who his children married? I have Walter P. born April 18 1901 and died April 1975 in Rutherford, NC. I have Clarence M Queen born June 18 1902 and died Feb 1971 in NC. And I have Dwight L. Queen born Aug 10 1909 in NC and died in Nov 1984. Do we have any birth or death dates for the others. I have found some birth dates for Queens with the names of John and Herbert but they were born closer to Dwights birthdates which could be correct but then perhaps John Albert was married to Mattie Kizer first and that is why he has Kizer children from her previous marriage living with him in 1900, and he married Martha second and some of their children that are listed first were really born after Clarence and Dwight. I found a Leroy P Queen on the 1900 Census born in Sept 1895 ( think that is correct as it was EXTREMELY hard to read.) Could this be the Roy Queen that some of you have listed in your family trees? What does the P stand for or is the P for Pate and we have two children listed when it is really only one? Can't wait for some feedback. Thanks family Wendy P.

Wendy, I'm replying to your post because of the three surnames that you mention. I have a John QUEEN born in North Carolina about 1803-1810. He moved to McNairy County, Tennessee and then on to Tishomingo County, Mississippi. He had a son, John, b. about 1838 in Mississippi. He had a daughter that married a STANTON. And there was a close relationship between this family of QUEEN's and the KIZER/KISER family. In fact, another of this John QUEEN's daughters has a Benjamin KIZER living in her household on the 1850 census. On the 1830 US census for McNairy County, Tennessee, my John QUEEN is living in close proximity to a number of KIZER households. And then on the 1840 US census and on the 1845 Mississippi state census it is the same. It looks as though these families migrated together from North Carolina. I realize that your John and my two John QUEEN's are not the same person but the same three surnames surrounding your John and mine is striking.
