This may be a re-hash of 1998 research/questions, but I'd still like to give a shot and see what develops. (Copy of Mary Orr's will has also been requested from state archives as well as have the appointment of administrator.) Consideration 1: Swain County Heritage article by Maisie Queen Young contains" "...William Lewis, Jr., b. 1774/75, md. Margaret Orr, who were my second great-grandparents." " The known children of William Lewis Queen, Jr. and his wife Margaret were: Maxwell, b. 1803, md. Celia Rose - Olive md. Ross Carter - Margaret Jean - Rebecca md. Kindred Reaves - and Rachel md. John Wesley Gibbs and lived near Whittier, N. C. - and my great grandfather James Smith Queen. Consideration 2: The Will of Mary Orr, presumed mother of the wife of William L. Queen, Jr. (executor) gives property.... First to a Mary Queen - it appears to be all property... (then) it shall continue in the hand of My Executor for: Maxwell Queen Jean Queen Olivine Queen Mary Queen Margaret Queen We are aware of the probability of other children being born to Wm. L. Queen, Jr. following the 1814 writing of the will of Mary Orr and before Jr.'s probable death in 1822; but who was the wife of Jr. as of the writing of Mary Orr's will? C'mon WLQ, Jr. experts, dig into the old files and memory banks and present the arguments/conclusions. Thanks, Gene
