After digging around in various files of papers it seems that during a visit to Rutherford County in May I obtained a photocopy of subject record. Rutherford County, NC Will Book D, pages 1 and 2. Yes, I do have questions that will come later. Here's my best reading of every word: (OEQ: Pg 1) Records of Wills (??) Oct Ter Ct 1822 In the name of God Amen, I Mary Orr of the county of Rutherford and State of North Carolina being very sick & weak in, or in perfect health of body but or and of perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God, calling to mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make (oeq: 11 blank spaces) this my last Will & Testament that is to say principally & first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hand of Almigh ty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in (?) decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executor William L. Queen nothing doubting but at the general Ressurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly state wherewith it (may?) pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise & dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First I give & bequeath wills Mary Queen one bed, bedstead & furniture & all my clothing, one set of Hackly & all my household furniture, and as to the ballance of my property to wit, five head of cattle, six Hogs, one foot wheel & one Saddle I give & bequeath in the manner & form following, it shall continue in the hand of my Executor for Maxwell 2 Record of Wills (??) Oct 1822. Queen, Jean Queen, Olivine Queen, Mary Queen & Margaret Queen (Junr??) and when the youngest comes to age it shall be divided as Equally as the nature of the property will admit, & that will not conveniently divide shall be sold & the money there arising to be equally divided between them all - and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke & disa??? all and any other former testaments wills legacies bequests and exceutor(?) by me in any wise named Wills and be queathed, ratifying & confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen.
