Well fans, as you remember from our last episode, Pat and I were packing for our trip to Scotland a couple of years ago, when the world suddenly tilted on 9-11 and we were forced to cancel. Here we go again, so I'm looking for recommendations, etc. We land in Glasgow on 9/2/05 (only $507 bottom line per person roundtrip on US Air through Orbitz) We immediately drive north to Oban (jet-lag be damned) and settle in to acclimate ourselves. Then next we're off to Skye and the ancient homelands of the MacQueens (Has anyone heard of the MacQueen B&B in Kyle of Lochash?) After exhausting ourselves on Skye, we'll meander through the NW Coast and then over to the Inverness area. Next, through the Highlands to the North Sea coast to spend a must-see at Dunnattor Castle where John MacQueen was held under protest. Then south to Edinburgh to see the sights and visit the Harbor at Leath where John MacQueen set sail in 1685. In a day or two or three we will fly Ryan Air from Edinburgh to Dublin where we hookup with Irish Tours for a 5 day trip around Ireland, finishing in Shannon. We fly back to Glasgow and after a few days of sightseeing we point West to San Francisco. Can't hardly wait ! Don Queen
