Katy, I have information from other researchers that David Queen was married twice 1) Margaret Looper, who was the mother of Radford, Jesse, Emilia, Basti, Sirus/Cyrus, Hartwell, and Alfred. 2) Charity Henline, widow of Kinchen Cheatham. The 1850 census shows David and Charity in Alexander County, North Carolina, pg 221, Dwelling 144, Family 144. With them are Hartwell and Rebecca Cheatham. I believe Rebecca is Charity's daughter. Rebecca was the daughter of Kinchen and Charity Cheatham. She moves in with David whenever Charity and David Queen marry. I saw the earlier posts on this Cirus Queen. Cirus, son of David and Margaret "Looper" Queen died at the prison camp in Alton Illinois in 1864 as Katy points out and could not be the same Cirus that is buried in the Jewell Cemetary. Also, everyone make note that the daughter's name is Vashti. Named after the biblical Queen of Persia, there is also a town in Alexander County North Carolina, close to where my family comes from, that is named Vashti. David Queen marries Charity Cheatham after his wife Margaret and her husband Kinchen both die sometime in the early 1830s.
